Harper Adams University is looking to recruit a Café Assistant who will deliver excellent customer service to students, conference guests and university staff. The successful candidate should have some front‑of‑house catering & hospitality/café experience and good customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers in a polite & friendly manner.
- Ensure high quality, customer‑focused provision of hot and cold food and beverages.
- Cash handling and stock security.
- Set up the Café offering in accordance with department standards.
- Comply with the Department’s Food Safety System.
- Consistently deliver a professional and efficient service to our customers.
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance.
- Ensure cleaning and closing procedures are carried out and documented.
- Report defects of buildings or equipment in the correct manner.
- Produce and serve barista‑standard coffees and other beverages.
- Carry out any reasonable requests from your supervisor.
- Help with special events (e.g., Graduation, Open Days and Royal Visits) where possible.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post and salary range of the grade.
