Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Practice – Harper & Keele Veterinary School. We are looking for an ambitious individual to join the Harper & Keele Vet School team. The postholder will use their clinical expertise primarily to feed into the third year of the BVetMS programme as well as foundation and clinical phases of the programme. The post holder will work with other colleagues within the school and wider universities to ensure that their respective disciplines and areas of expertise are fully integrated into the programme, as part of the wider student development of professional competences and to foster the school strategic theme of excellence in primary care practice. The post holder will work to facilitate the integration of teaching from veterinary specialists and research-active scientists to ensure content is current and evidence based. Engagement with strategic partners and other relevant stakeholders will be essential. Opportunities to develop institutional and national collaborations and scholarship in their area of interest will be available, informing individual academic career development and the potential to shape the future direction of the school’s research and engagement strategies across the veterinary sector.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to teaching in the third year of the BVetMS programme, and across foundation and clinical phases.
- Work with colleagues within the school and wider universities to integrate disciplines into the programme and develop student professional competences.
- Facilitate the integration of teaching from veterinary specialists and research-active scientists to keep content current and evidence-based.
- Engage with strategic partners and other stakeholders to support the school’s aims and partnerships.
- Pursue opportunities to develop institutional and national collaborations and scholarship in their area of interest, informing career development and influencing the school’s research and engagement strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in veterinary medicine.
- Member (or eligible to become a member) of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, with experience and understanding of veterinary general practice in the UK context.
- Evidence of subject or discipline focus via postgraduate work or education.
- Previous educational experience.
- Ideally holds fellowship (or above) with Advance HE.
- Relevant postgraduate veterinary qualifications are desirable.
- Appointee will be primarily based at either the Keele University or Harper Adams University campus, with regular travel between Harper Adams and Keele University for delivery and collaborative working.
