We are seeking an experienced library professional to join our Library Services team as Library Services and Discovery Manager on a six-month part-time, fixed-term basis. Reporting to the University Librarian, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Library Services, ensuring high quality, user-focused services across our people, systems and resources, with a particular focus on digital technologies and service improvement.
For the duration of the appointment, you will provide direct line management to the Teaching Librarian team, alongside the Library Supervisor and Library Assistants, supporting staff performance, development and collaborative working.
You will be educated to degree level, with either a recognised library qualification or substantial relevant professional experience. You will have significant experience of managing library operations and teams, proven experience of library management systems and digital services, as well as experience of managing electronic resources and supplier relationships. Experience within a higher or further education library environment, familiarity with resource list systems and awareness of emerging technologies would be advantageous.
This is a 0.6 FTE post (22.2 hours per week) and is fully campus-based. The role will be worked on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as the working pattern has been designed to provide operational management cover and is therefore not open to alternative arrangements.
