Our client, a fast‑growing and innovative river cruise operator, is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager - South region to support its continued expansion across the UK & Northern Ireland travel trade. This is a highly visible, field‑based role, ideal for a confident and relationship‑focused sales professional who thrives on developing new business while nurturing long‑term trade partnerships. Acting as a brand ambassador, you will play a pivotal role in increasing brand awareness, driving sales performance, and strengthening the company’s position within the trade.
Working closely with internal sales and marketing teams, you will identify growth opportunities, manage key accounts, deliver engaging training and events, and provide valuable market insight to inform regional and global strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving regional sales growth through proactive engagement with travel agents, consortia, and key trade partners
- Identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities
- Managing and growing a portfolio of key accounts
- Increasing brand visibility through sales calls, roadshows, trade events, webinars, and familiarisation trips
- Delivering compelling product training to support agent confidence and conversion
- Collaborating with marketing and internal stakeholders to support campaigns and initiatives
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and reporting on activity and performance
Skills:
- Proven experience in business development or trade sales within travel, tourism, or cruising
- Strong understanding of the UK & Northern Ireland travel trade landscape
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful long‑term partnerships
- Confident presenter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
