You will take ownership of enterprise data modelling and architecture, helping to transform how data is structured, governed, and consumed across the business.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Data Architect will
- Design and govern enterprise-wide data models across bronze, silver and gold layers within a Medallion Architecture.
- Create scalable curated data models using dimensional modelling, star schemas, facts and dimensions, and Kimball methodologies.
- Define semantic data layers, modelling standards, and governance frameworks to improve consistency, quality, and reusability.
- Manage logical and physical data models, including metadata, business glossaries, data flows, and data storage.
- Partner with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and wider technology teams to deliver data solutions through an agile environment.
- Provide architectural assurance for business-critical programmes and ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy.
- Promote data architecture best practice through consultancy, mentoring, and technical leadership.
- Support the evolution from traditional reporting towards predictive and prescriptive analytics capabilities.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong hands-on experience in Data Architecture and Data Modelling within enterprise-scale environments.
- Excellent knowledge of dimensional modelling, star schemas, semantic layers, and Kimball methodologies.
- Experience designing and implementing curated data models within cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong understanding of logical, physical, transactional, analytical, and relational data modelling approaches.
- Experience establishing architecture standards, governance frameworks, and data management best practices.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data quality, data governance, and master data management principles.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and business leaders.
- Experience working within Azure-based ecosystems and Data Lakehouse architectures.
- Financial Services, Professional Services or Legal industry (desirable)
