Are you a skilled Technical Web Analyst with a passion for digital data and a background in GA4 implementations? I\'m working with a well-known brand in the travel sector who are embarking on a major digital transformation journey. They need a contractor to lead a robust Google Analytics 4 implementation and manage end-to-end tracking using Google Tag Manager (GTM) across their customer-facing platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a travel business that is evolving its online booking journey, personalisation strategies, and marketing analytics.
Role & Responsibilities
- GA4 Implementation for Travel Journeys: Lead the end-to-end setup of Google Analytics 4 across web and app booking flows, ensuring accurate and scalable tracking of customer behaviour, from trip searches to bookings.
- Tag Management (GTM): Own the tag management process via GTM, deploying marketing and analytics tags to capture critical user interactions across various travel-related customer touchpoints.
- Documentation & Governance: Build and maintain detailed documentation of the tagging architecture, dataLayer structure, and reporting frameworks.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, UX, and development teams to ensure tracking requirements are captured, prioritised, and implemented effectively.
- Post-Go-Live Optimisation: Monitor post-implementation performance, resolve tracking issues, and provide actionable insights to optimise the digital experience.
- Insights & Reporting: Use your analytics expertise to interpret data, uncover travel behaviour trends, and deliver insight-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Solid experience in digital analytics with a strong focus on GA4 implementation and user journey tracking
- Proficiency in Google Tag Manager, with experience in deploying tags for dynamic and transactional websites or apps
- Strong understanding of the online travel customer lifecycle, from research and planning to booking and post-booking engagement
- Comfortable working with dataLayers, debugging tools, and analytics QA processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including documentation and insight delivery
- Previous experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector is highly desirable
