The Role
- Lead and evolve the organisation’s data governance framework, driving maturity and scalability
- Embed data governance into business-as-usual processes across multiple teams and regions
- Partner with Data Stewards and senior stakeholders to strengthen data ownership and accountability
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Architecture, and Technology teams to align governance with wider data initiatives
- Drive improvements in data quality, metadata management, and reference data practices
- Oversee governance tooling, including cataloguing and lineage capabilities
- Influence senior leadership to align data governance with strategic priorities
- Lead and develop a small data governance team while leveraging external consultants
- Support global alignment of governance practices and contribute to broader transformation programmes
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience in data governance leadership roles within complex organisations
- Proven ability to scale and embed data governance frameworks across a business
- Background in professional services, consulting, or similarly structured environments
- Experience with governance tooling such as Collibra, Informatica, or Data360
- Strong understanding of data governance principles including data quality, metadata, and data domains
- Experience working across both technical and non-technical stakeholder groups
- Comfortable operating in evolving environments with ambiguity
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at senior level
