The Role
As Senior Manager, Data Governance, you will lead the evolution and adoption of a firm wide data governance framework, ensuring it is embedded across both business and technology teams. You will:
- Lead and mature the organisation’s data governance framework, ensuring it is scalable, embedded, and aligned to business priorities.
- Work closely with Data Stewards and cross functional teams to drive adoption of governance practices and accountability.
- Partner with BI, data architecture, and technology teams to embed governance into analytics, platforms, and transformation initiatives.
- Oversee data quality frameworks, metadata management, and reference data strategies to improve data consistency and usability.
- Define and govern data domains, ownership models, and governance standards across the organisation.
- Provide leadership to a small data governance team while leveraging wider internal and consultant expertise.
- Influence senior stakeholders to align governance with strategic priorities, including AI and innovation initiatives.
Your Skills and Experience:
You will bring strong leadership capability within data governance and experience operating across complex organisations. Key requirements include:
- Strong commercial experience leading and scaling data governance frameworks.
- Experience embedding governance into business as usual processes and influencing adoption across teams.
- Expertise in data governance disciplines including data quality, metadata, data domains, and reference data management.
- Hands on experience with governance tooling such as Collibra, Informatica, or Data360.
- Ability to work effectively in evolving or ambiguous environments and provide structure and direction.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across both business and technical functions.
- Background within Law, professional services, consulting, or similarly structured environments is advantageous.
- Experience working in a global business.
