The Opportunity
A leading international media and audio business is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to join a central Data & Decision Sciences function operating across multiple European markets.
This team sits at the heart of the organisation and partners closely with senior stakeholders to drive data led decision making across audience, commercial, and operational domains. Data is treated as a strategic asset, not a support function.
The Role
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into well modelled, business ready data marts and semantic layers. You will take ownership of dimensional modelling, dbt transformations, and core metrics that power BI tools used across the business.
This role blends hands on technical delivery with technical leadership and line management, managing 2 to 3 Analytics Engineers while working closely with senior data leaders and stakeholders on multi market initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own dimensional data models using Kimball methodology
- Build and maintain dbt pipelines from raw to gold layer marts
- Define and enforce modelling, testing, and documentation standards
- Own elements of the semantic layer and core business metrics
- Translate technical schemas into clear, business friendly concepts
- Lead migration of workloads into Snowflake and dbt
- Refactor legacy logic and optimise models for performance
- Champion documentation first practices and data quality standards
- Improve observability using dbt tests, data quality tooling, and internal monitoring
- Line manage and mentor 2 to 3 Analytics Engineers
- Partner with senior stakeholders to shape data strategy and delivery
- Engage with international markets to understand requirements and align delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Strong SQL with hands on Snowflake experience
- Proven dbt experience at scale
- Python for data engineering tasks
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools
- Git based workflows
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Experience working in cloud environments including AWS or GCP
- Experience leading engineers and large scale data projects
- Clear communicator with strong ownership mindset
