A tech-led insurer is scaling a new AI function and hiring an AI Platform Engineer to build production-ready AI systems on GCP. This is one of the first hires into a newly created AI organisation, with the mandate to make the business the UK’s first fully AI-powered insurer.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and operate production-grade AI agents on GCP using Google’s ADK
  • Integrate AI systems with policy, claims and CRM platforms via REST/JSON APIs
  • Develop scalable RAG pipelines including ingestion, text processing and vector search
  • Implement evaluation, monitoring, A/B testing and cost/latency dashboards
  • Shape architectural patterns, engineering standards and wider AI strategy
  • Work across key AI products including claims automation and internal retrieval tools

Role Requirements

  • Background in Data/ML Engineering or Software Engineering with strong applied AI experience
  • Deep expertise in GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run/Functions, ADK, Model Garden)
  • Strong Python and API development experience
  • Hands-on with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector databases
  • Proven track record building production-ready AI systems with observability and testing
  • Solid DevOps capability: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes

Work Environment & Location

  • 1–2 days per week on-site in South West London
  • Hybrid flexibility the remainder of the week
