The Role

  • Support the development and delivery of the organisation’s data protection compliance framework.
  • Act as a key contact for internal teams, offering clear and practical guidance on data protection matters.
  • Manage and coordinate responses to data subject rights requests.
  • Support incident handling, including investigation and documentation of personal data breaches.
  • Maintain governance documentation such as RoPAs, DPIAs and LIAs.
  • Review data protection clauses within contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Contribute to privacy impact assessments for new products, systems and initiatives.
  • Support training, awareness and continuous improvement activities.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in data protection, privacy, compliance or governance.
  • Solid understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR.
  • The ability to interpret complex privacy requirements and translate them into pragmatic business advice.
  • Excellent organisational skills and confidence managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A proactive, detail‑focused approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Desirable: privacy certifications, experience in fast‑paced commercial environments, or familiarity with ISO 27001 or emerging tech privacy considerations.
