We are now hiring a Data Science Manager to take ownership of day-to-day leadership within the team and play a key role in its next phase of growth. This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys leading from the front. You will balance active billing with the responsibility of managing, coaching, and developing a team of consultants in a high-fee, high-expectation market.

The Opportunity

The Data Science team is a core part of Harnham's Data & AI offering and has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, repeat business, and market expertise. With recent team changes and new junior hires joining, we are looking for a manager who can bring structure, energy, and strong people leadership.

You will manage a small but high-performing team, including experienced billers and junior consultants, while continuing to contribute commercially through your own desk. This role offers clear scope to step into a more senior leadership position as the team continues to scale.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading from the front with active personal billings alongside team management responsibilities
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a team of consultants, including junior recruiters and experienced billers
  • Driving performance through structured 1:1s, clear expectations, and consistent coaching
  • Supporting consultants with client strategy, deal management, and complex processes
  • Building and expanding client relationships across the Data Science and AI market
  • Acting as a senior point of escalation for clients and candidates when required
  • Working closely with senior leadership to support team growth, culture, and long-term planning

Who We're Looking For

  • An experienced 360 recruiter with a strong billing track record
  • Proven experience managing and developing recruiters, ideally within a technical or specialist market
  • Comfortable managing a mix of junior consultants and high performers
  • Confident, assertive, and able to challenge constructively when needed
  • Commercially minded and able to balance leadership with personal performance
  • Data Science or broader data/technical recruitment experience is advantageous, but not essential

We are open to candidates operating at Manager or Senior Manager level, with final level determined by management experience, commercial impact, and leadership scope.
