The Role

This role focuses on establishing and maintaining strong data quality and governance practices across key datasets to ensure trust and reliability for finance and business teams. It involves designing and implementing data quality frameworks, including metrics, validation checks, and monitoring using tools like SQL and dbt, while proactively identifying and resolving data issues at their source in collaboration with engineering teams. The position also requires building and managing a data governance platform, covering data dictionaries, lineage, and ownership, alongside defining clear data standards and ensuring visibility for stakeholders. Working closely with data stewards and senior stakeholders, the role translates business requirements into measurable quality rules, balancing hands-on technical work with strategic governance design and effective stakeholder engagement.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands on experience with SQL and dbt, with a passion for data quality and metrics.
  • Proven experience designing or implementing data quality checks, monitoring, and validation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data governance concepts such as data lineage, ownership, stewardship, and data catalogues.
  • Background as a Data Quality Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or Data Engineer with governance exposure.
  • Experience working with governance or catalogue tools such as Collibra, Atlan, Purview, or similar.
  • Confident communicator who can work with technical teams and business stakeholders to agree and define quality standards.
