Job Description

Lead Full Stack Engineer

Located: Leicester, Leicestershire – Hybrid (1 day/week onsite)

Salary: Up to £65,000 + 10% bonus + 4% pension

This large retail trader is undergoing a major digital transformation journey and looking to bring on a Lead Full Stack Developer.

Tech Stack:

Core: Node.js, React
Cloud: AWS
Database: MongoDB, PHP
Tools: GitLab, Power BI, modern CI/CD pipelines

Your Role:

As the Lead Full Stack Engineer, you’ll be:

Mixture of management (30%) and hands-on coding (70%)
Leading a small, tight-knit team (4 -5 people)
Creating scalable, secure, and performant solutions for internal and external platforms

We’re open to strong senior engineers ready for the step up — or experienced leads looking for a new challenge.

Ideal Profile:

Solid experience in full stack development (5+ years ideally)
Strong leadership skills — formally or informally leading teams
Deep knowledge of PHP, Node, React, AWS, and MongoDB

Interview Process:

30-min intro call (tech & non-tech questions)
Take-home tech test
Final in-person interview in Leicester (meet the team, deeper technical discussion)
