About the Role
An established financial service organisation is looking for a Head of Data Governance – a strategic and driven leader to take the reins. As Head of Data Governance, you’ll work closely with our CDO and CIO to define the roadmap, close gaps, and align governance across business functions.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement the data governance roadmap
- Lead gap analysis and risk reporting for executive and regulatory needs
- Build a high-performing team, supporting existing analysts and incoming managers
- Develop, refine, and implement policies on data privacy, ownership, lineage, and control
- Act as a senior advisor on regulatory data responsibilities across cross-functional teams
- Represent governance in quarterly risk and compliance meetings
What You’ll Need
- 6+ years in data governance, data privacy, or risk/data leadership
- Experience building or rebuilding governance functions
- Strong understanding of regulatory data obligations (e.g. GDPR, BCBS 239)
- Proven team leadership experience and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Collaborative and flexible mindset, with hands-on capability when needed
