This is an opportunity to join a major UK retail organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its finance data landscape; sitting within a high-impact Finance Analytics function, you’ll work on modernising data infrastructure and delivering insight across core operational areas. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working closely with both Finance and Analytics, helping to shape how data is structured, accessed, and used across the business.
This is a hands-on Insight Analyst role with a strong focus on data modelling, SQL, and analytics engineering principles. You’ll act as a key builder of analytical datasets, working within a modern data stack (including Databricks) to deliver clean, reliable data for reporting and insight generation. Alongside this, you’ll support finance teams by analysing trends, identifying opportunities, and helping stakeholders make better decisions.
- Design and develop robust data models using Databricks (Medallion Architecture).
- Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to support finance reporting.
- Use Python (Pandas/Numpy) for deeper analysis, automation, and data profiling.
- Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Support the move toward self-service analytics and improved data literacy.
Strong SQL skills and Python (Pandas) experience are required.
