This is a great opportunity for a Data Protection professional to join a fast paced, commercially driven organisation that is embedding privacy and data protection at the heart of how it operates. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing real business decisions and helping to build a robust, practical data protection framework.
They are a large, multi brand retail organisation operating across digital and physical channels. The business is going through a period of transformation, with a strong focus on innovation, customer experience and responsible data use. As a Data Protection Advisor, you will support the wider data protection function and act as a trusted point of contact across the business.
- Supporting the Data Protection Manager in delivering and maintaining the group data protection compliance framework
- Providing clear, practical advice to internal teams on data protection and privacy matters
- Assisting with data subject rights requests, including access, erasure, objection and restriction
- Supporting the investigation and documentation of personal data breaches in collaboration with stakeholders
- Maintaining data protection records, including RoPAs, DPIAs, LIAs and related governance documentation
- Reviewing and advising on data protection clauses in contracts and supplier arrangements
- Supporting privacy impact assessments for new projects, products and systems
- Contributing to training, awareness and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong understanding of data protection within a commercial environment:
- Experience in a data protection, privacy, compliance or governance role, either in house or consultancy
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into business friendly guidance
- Data protection or privacy related training or certification
- Familiarity with information security or data governance frameworks
- Awareness of privacy considerations in emerging technologies such as AI
