Love sport, statistics, and solving difficult problems? This is an opportunity to join a specialist sports trading firm where your models and research will directly influence trading decisions across global sports markets. Whether you're coming from academia, research, data science, or another quantitative background, they're looking for people who are genuinely passionate about maths, statistics, and sport.
The Company
They are a growing quantitative sports trading and investment firm based in Central London. With a collaborative team of researchers, analysts, and engineers, they use data-driven models to identify opportunities across a range of global sports markets.
The environment is highly analytical but far from corporate. You'll have plenty of autonomy, the opportunity to learn from experienced quants, and the chance to make a real impact from day one. Despite their growth, they have maintained a strong culture with excellent retention across the business.
The Role
As a Quantitative Analyst, you'll develop predictive models that forecast the outcomes of sporting events and help drive trading performance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Building statistical and mathematical models using real-world data
- Researching new approaches to improve forecasting accuracy
- Applying probability, statistics, and quantitative techniques to challenging problems
- Writing high-quality Python code
- Testing and validating models using large datasets
- Working closely with researchers, traders, and engineers to improve existing strategies
This is a role for someone who enjoys digging deep into data, exploring new ideas, and continuously improving models in a highly competitive environment.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline
- MSc or PhD preferred, although exceptional candidates from other backgrounds will be considered
- Strong understanding of probability, statistics, and mathematical modelling
- Experience working with real-world data and quantitative research
- Strong Python skills
- Evidence that you've developed deep expertise in a highly technical area
- Curiosity, strong problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
- A genuine interest in sport is important, whether that's through playing, following, analysing, or working within sport-related environments
Sports trading experience is a bonus, but absolutely not a requirement.
What They Offer
- £70,000 - £140,000 depending on experience
- Performance bonus paid twice a year
- Private healthcare
- Pension scheme
- Gym membership, including flexibility to train during the working week
- Clear progression opportunities as the team continues to grow
- A collaborative environment with high levels of autonomy and ownership
