You will take ownership of the engineering function, bringing structure, consistency, and leadership to a highly capable technical team while working closely with executive leadership on long term technical direction.

The Role
- Take ownership of the engineering function, leading senior engineers across backend, platform, full stack, and data disciplines.
- Act as the primary engineering leader, allowing the wider technology leadership to focus on data science and machine learning innovation.
- Set clear standards for engineering best practice, architecture, delivery, and technical decision making.
- Coordinate and oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are well planned, aligned, and delivered effectively.
- Stay close to technical design and architecture, providing guidance and challenge without being hands on day to day.
- Partner with product, data science, and client facing teams to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and delivering real customer value.
- Help shape and evolve a strong, collaborative engineering culture within a remote first environment.
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience leading engineering teams within product led or platform based technology businesses.
- Background in backend or full stack engineering with a solid architectural perspective.
- Experience managing and mentoring senior engineers, with the credibility to lead highly capable technical specialists.
- Proven ability to bring structure, standards, and consistency to growing engineering teams.
- Experience owning data-heavy systems.
- Comfortable operating in a startup or scale up environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity.
- Confident communicator who can work effectively across technical and non technical stakeholders.
