Are you passionate about Conversion Rate Optimisation and looking for the opportunity to build a CRO function from the ground up? I am partnering with an established digital business that’s investing heavily in experimentation and optimisation. Following two years of successful contractor-led CRO activity, they’re now looking for their first permanent CRO Manager to own the function, shape experimentation strategy and build a team as the business continues to grow; this is a genuine greenfield opportunity with significant autonomy, senior stakeholder exposure and the chance to make a measurable commercial impact from day one!
The Company
My client is an international digital marketing and customer acquisition business that owns and operates a portfolio of high-performing online brands across both B2B and B2C markets. Since launching in 2013, the business has grown to over 100 employees with operations across the UK, North America, Australia and Europe, supporting millions of customer interactions every year. Unlike traditional agencies, the business owns its own digital platforms, giving the team complete control over customer acquisition, experimentation and optimisation across the entire user journey. With over 40 products, multiple acquisition funnels and high volumes of website traffic, experimentation is viewed as a key commercial growth lever and has strong backing from senior leadership.
The Role
As the CRO Manager you will take ownership of Conversion Rate Optimisation across multiple brands and customer journeys; initially operating as an individual contributor, you’ll have the opportunity to establish experimentation best practice before growing and leading the CRO capability over time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the CRO roadmap across multiple digital brands
- Designing, implementing and analysing A/B and multivariate tests
- Building experimentation frameworks and best practice
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer journeys and conversion performance
- Partnering with Product, Marketing, PPC and Development teams
- Using customer behaviour data to prioritise optimisation opportunities
- Measuring commercial impact and presenting recommendations to stakeholders
- Helping establish a long-term experimentation culture across the business
Your Skills & Experience
- Extensive CRO / Experimentation experience
- Hands-on test build/development experience
- Proven experience delivering successful experimentation programmes
- Strong knowledge of A/B testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Convert.com, Optimizely, VWO or similar
- Experience working with high-traffic websites
- Strong understanding of customer journey optimisation
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercial mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes
- Experience within lead generation or performance marketing environments advantageous
- Previous mentoring or management experience beneficial
The Benefits £45,000 - £60,000 Genuine opportunity to build and lead the CRO function; clear progression as the optimisation function expands.
