ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR (CORPORATE REPUTATION)

LONDON (4X WEEK)

UP TO £75,000

The Role:

Our client is looking for a dynamic Associate Director to lead and elevate the research capabilities of their team. This key position will involve overseeing the delivery of high-quality research projects, managing client relationships, mentoring team members, and driving the company’s commercial success. As part of this role, you will work closely with your team to define best practices, support talent development, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Research Projects: Manage the end-to-end delivery of research projects, ensuring a client-first approach and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Set Best Practices: Define and implement best practices for quotes, proposals, and client projects, ensuring consistency and excellence in all deliverables.
  • Mentor & Coach: Provide guidance and hands-on coaching for researchers, delivering 1:1 feedback, overseeing quality assurance, and supporting professional growth.
  • Develop Talent: Conduct weekly 1:1s, formal reviews, and training sessions on research methodologies and client management to ensure skill development across the team.
  • Manage Client Accounts: Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients, understanding their needs, and proactively identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Drive Commercial Success: Improve conversion rates on proposals, ensuring that research projects are both impactful and achievable, while helping to meet revenue targets.
  • Generate New Business: Confidently convert new business opportunities, working closely with the growth and marketing teams to secure new client engagements.
  • Grow the Team: Identify skill gaps and help recruit top talent, continuously improving the hiring process to scale the team and build a world-class research department.

Who You Are (Skills & Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in research consulting, with expertise across both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality research projects from scoping to execution, ensuring exceptional standards and client satisfaction.
  • Experience managing client relationships, retaining and expanding key accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance client needs with business growth objectives.
  • Experience mentoring and managing team members, providing structured feedback and development opportunities.
  • Confidence in writing and delivering proposals, with a client-focused approach to solving research challenges.
  • Experience leading large, complex research projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • A background in both qualitative and quantitative research, with the ability to integrate mixed methods approaches.
  • Experience with hiring and scaling research teams.
