This is a high impact opportunity for a Data Platform Manager to take ownership of a strategically critical Databricks environment within a business that sees data as a core commercial driver. You will be responsible for the ongoing development, governance, optimisation, and operational ownership of the central data platform, helping shape how data is managed, accessed, and leveraged across international markets. This role sits at the centre of a major data transformation programme, with strong visibility across senior leadership and the opportunity to influence platform strategy, architecture, and best practice at scale.

The Role:

  • Take end to end ownership of the Databricks platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, well governed, and aligned to business and technical priorities.
  • Define and drive the platform roadmap across infrastructure, tooling, governance, monitoring, and operational maturity.
  • Act as the central point of ownership for the wider data platform environment, supporting analytics, engineering, reporting, and AI use cases.
  • Work closely with data engineering and architecture teams to improve platform design, performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Drive best practice across platform management including access control, cost optimisation, observability, incident management, and operational governance.
  • Challenge and guide technical decisions to ensure solutions are robust, reusable, and aligned to long term platform strategy.
  • Support the evolution of a modern lakehouse environment and help embed scalable self service analytics capabilities across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and market teams to prioritise platform enhancements and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly.
  • Act as a key escalation point for platform related issues and ensure high levels of operational performance and platform adoption.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Strong commercial experience owning or managing enterprise scale cloud data platforms.
  • Deep hands on exposure to Databricks, with a strong understanding of platform capabilities, administration, and best practice.
  • Experience managing modern lakehouse or cloud data environments within complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of platform governance, security, scalability, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Broader exposure to cloud data technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or wider cloud ecosystems would be beneficial.
  • Comfortable working across data engineering, analytics, architecture, and business teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and non technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting data platform transformation programmes and enabling self service analytics capabilities at scale.
