.NET Software Developer Tech for Good | Up to £50k Hybrid (Oxfordshire)

Are you a .NET developer with a passion for building clean, scalable applications, and want your work to make a real-world impact? I'm hiring for a .NET Software Developer to join a sustainability-focused eCommerce business that's reinventing how we think about books, logistics, and the circular economy.

They process over 500,000 pre-loved books every week, ensuring they're re-used instead of going to landfill while funding literacy initiatives around the world. You'll play a core role in evolving the systems that make this possible: from eCommerce platforms to warehouse fulfilment software.

The Role

As a mid-level developer, you'll work across the full development lifecycle - designing, building, testing, and optimising core systems across their .NET-based stack. You'll contribute to backend infrastructure and occasionally dip into frontend tools, working closely with product, analysts, and devs in a collaborative and low-ego environment.

Why Join?

  • Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)
  • Hybrid working - 1-2 days a week in the Wallingford HQ
  • Get hands-on with logistics, automation, and large-scale eCommerce
  • Join a mission-led business making sustainability part of everyday commerce
  • Modern tech stack: AWS, Docker, SQL/NoSQL, CI/CD pipelines

Tech You'll Work With

  • C# / .NET (Core and latest versions)
  • SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, DocumentDB
  • AWS: ECS, S3, SQS, RDS, DocumentDB
  • Docker for containerisation
  • Git/Bitbucket, Agile workflows
  • Bonus: exposure to CI/CD, microservices, or Blazor/MAUI

You'll Thrive If You...

  • Have 3+ years of .NET experience and enjoy solving real-world problems with clean, maintainable code
  • Enjoy collaborating with product and operations teams - not just staying behind the curtain
  • Have strong knowledge of SQL and are confident working with both relational and NoSQL DBs
  • Know your way around AWS or want to sharpen your cloud infrastructure skills
  • Appreciate a team that values sustainability, autonomy, and impact
