The Role
- Provide senior technical leadership within the AI Lab, taking ownership of complex engineering decisions and hands-on delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and continuity within the AI Lab during a period of team transition.
- Design, build and iterate on AI driven prototypes across text, audio, voice, video and multimodal experiences.
- Lead experimentation with new models, tools and workflows, assessing their suitability for different use cases.
- Shape pragmatic architectures that balance speed, flexibility, quality and future scalability.
- Help identify where advances in AI can create distinctive value for audiences and products.
- Contribute to the longer-term technical direction of the Lab, influencing what capabilities to build or scale.
- Support and mentor other technical contributors where appropriate.
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience building modern generative AI systems in production or advanced prototype environments.
- Excellent software engineering capability with a pragmatic approach to rapid prototyping.
- Experience working with multiple modalities such as text, audio, voice, video or conversational interfaces.
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience defining and applying evaluation approaches for AI quality, reliability and usability.
- Must have experience working in a content creation environment.
