Remote (UK) with occasional travel | Β£80,000 to Β£90,000 + benefits

This is an opportunity to take ownership of data architecture within a large-scale Azure Data Lakehouse transformation. You'll play a key role in shaping how data is modelled, governed, and consumed across the organisation, helping to drive the transition from traditional reporting to advanced analytics and data-driven decision making.

The Role

You will act as the technical authority for data architecture and modelling across a modern Azure environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and governing enterprise-wide data models across a Medallion Architecture framework
  • Creating curated data models using dimensional modelling and Kimball methodologies
  • Defining modelling standards, governance frameworks, and data feed specifications
  • Supporting the design of semantic layers that enable reporting, analytics, and future AI use cases
  • Collaborating closely with Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers in an agile delivery environment
  • Producing architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical designs
  • Influencing wider business systems to ensure strong data architecture principles are embedded throughout the organisation
  • Driving best practice across data quality, consistency, scalability, and governance

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Data Architect within enterprise-scale environments
  • Expertise in dimensional modelling, star schemas, facts and dimensions, and Kimball methodologies
  • Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of Azure-based Data Lakehouse environments
  • Experience creating curated and semantic data layers for analytical consumption
  • Proven ability to develop architecture standards, governance frameworks, and modelling best practice
  • Experience working across the full data lifecycle, from source systems through to business-facing analytics
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers

Desirable experience:

  • Background in financial services, professional services, legal services, or similarly complex data environments
  • Experience supporting organisations on their journey towards customer-centric or client-centric data models
