Job Description
Founding Software / Platform Engineer
Stealth Fintech (London / Hybrid)
Up to £150,000 + Equity
I'm working with a stealth-mode startup that's building a GPU-backed trading platform, with the goal of making GPU trading efficient and unlocking price discovery in a completely new market. With strong interest from SF venture capitalists and a seed round expected to close next month, this is the chance to join at the most exciting stage of the journey.
The founding team already includes world-class talent from MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Citadel, and Meta. They're now looking for a Founding Engineer with pedigree from top-tier tech or fintech companies, someone who can both lead and build, and who will play a visible role in fundraising as proof of the company's ability to attract exceptional talent.
Why this role?
-
Impact: Shape the architecture and scale of a trading platform in a completely new asset class.
-
Visibility: Be part of the fundraising pitch and future public face of the company.
-
Ownership: Drive technical decision-making across backend, infrastructure, and deployment.
-
Growth: Join a team of proven founders with deep technical and financial expertise.
What you'll be doing:
-
Building and scaling a complex trading platform from the ground up.
-
Improving and expanding cloud deployment processes (currently GCP).
-
Leading on backend engineering in Python, with PostgreSQL for data storage.
-
Expanding Terraform usage across deployments and managing Kubernetes clusters.
-
Collaborating with the founding team on data acquisition, frontend, and platform scaling.
What they're looking for:
-
Strong experience from a recognisable tech scale-up or fintech (e.g., Revolut, Spotify, Bloomberg, etc.).
-
Track record of building complex systems – either in financial services, B2B SaaS, or other data-heavy domains.
-
Hands-on with Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud (GCP preferred).
-
Understanding of markets, trading systems, or brokerage platforms (Bloomberg, commodities, etc.) would be a big plus.
-
Someone equally comfortable building as they are leading – you'll be in the trenches but also shaping the vision.
Tech stack:
GCP | Python | PostgreSQL | Kubernetes | Terraform | React | Typescript
What's on offer:
-
Founding-level equity + salary.
-
A central role in the fundraising journey and future company growth.
-
Work alongside some of the brightest minds in finance, AI, and engineering.
-
The chance to define an entirely new market.
