BI Engineer
Contract: 12 month FTC (possibility of going permanent)
Location: London Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office)
I'm currently representing my client, who is looking for a BI Engineer to support the development of data models, ETL processes and reporting solutions, working closely with analysts and developers to deliver high-quality BI solutions.
The Role:
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, data warehouses and SSAS cubes.
- Build and enhance data and semantic models, including advanced DAX calculations.
- Write and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Support testing, quality assurance, bug fixing and data validation.
- Troubleshoot data issues and support client queries.
- Collaborate with analysts and developers to deliver scalable, reliable BI solutions.
The Requirements:
- Strong SQL Server and T-SQL development experience.
- Experience with SSAS multidimensional and Tabular models, including DAX.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
- Familiarity with Azure data services and modern data platforms.
- Experience with data validation, testing and quality assurance.
- Understanding of established BI development standards and architectural patterns.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- Experience with Data Vault and Kimball modelling methodologies.
- Programming or scripting skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting junior developers through knowledge sharing and peer reviews.
