Location: London (1 day onsite, then 2 days per cycle)

Contract: 3 months

IR35: Outside

Rate: £480-£550 per day

Start: Up to 1 month notice max

Overview

This role sits within the FP&A function, supporting the build-out of a more robust and scalable reporting approach for strategic investment tracking. Alongside a new Finance Data Warehouse (FDW), the business needs a "bolt-on" solution to classify and report on investment activity, enabling accurate tracking of revenue, costs, and consultant utilisation for senior leadership, Board, and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document requirements across FP&A, Finance, and Investments stakeholders
  • Assess current reporting processes, data sources, and KPI definitions
  • Define a tactical classification and data capture approach to support investment reporting
  • Produce clear scoping documentation for the Finance Systems team (Phase 1)
  • Develop detailed technical specifications covering data models, logic, and reporting outputs (Phase 2)
  • Map data lineage, calculations, and dependencies in a clear, build-ready format
  • Work closely with the Finance Systems team to support handover into development

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
  • Consultancy or finance-led environments preferred
  • Experience working in complex, multi-source reporting environments
  • Background in FP&A / finance environments (P&L, KPIs, variance analysis)
  • Experience working with complex reporting stacks (Understanding of Alteryx and Power Query)
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data flows, and reporting logic
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Comfortable working autonomously in unstructured environments
  • Coding experience beneficial but not essential
