Insights & Research Consultant Manager (Housing)
London/Northampton 3 Month Contract Outside IR35This is a high-impact interim assignment for an experienced housing insights leader. Joining at a critical period, you will provide leadership to the insights function, support regulatory inspection readiness, and ensure reporting, governance, and evidence frameworks can withstand external scrutiny.The CompanyThey are a large housing provider operating across London and the surrounding regions. As a regulated organisation focused on delivering high-quality services and positive outcomes for residents, they are preparing for a significant regulatory inspection. The business is seeking an experienced insights professional to provide leadership, challenge, and assurance across reporting and performance functions during this period.The Role and Deliverables
- Lead the Insights function and manage a team of Senior Analysts.
- Support organisational readiness for a forthcoming housing regulatory inspection.
- Review reporting, governance, performance, and insight processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and inspection-ready.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to prepare evidence, reporting packs, and responses for regulatory scrutiny.
- Assess existing insight and performance frameworks, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver strategic recommendations that strengthen reporting standards, governance, and decision-making across the organisation.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience leading an Insights, Research, Customer Intelligence, Performance, or Reporting function within a Housing Association, Registered Provider, or social housing environment.
- Proven experience producing board-level reporting and performance insight for senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of housing regulation, governance, and performance management frameworks.
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections, audits, or similar assurance activities within regulated environments.
- Ability to review complex reporting and evidence structures, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Experience influencing executive stakeholders and providing credible challenge and recommendations.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience managing and developing analytical teams.
- Knowledge of housing operations, service performance, complaints, and regulatory reporting requirements.
