Our consultancy teams work on high-risk residential buildings, complex housing portfolios, external wall systems and strategic compliance challenges. About the Role
As Principal Fire Risk Assessor, you will act as a senior technical specialist within the Consultancy division, leading on complex FRAs, guiding FRA methodology, and ensuring high-quality outputs across a broad portfolio of buildings. You will support a team of assessors, lead validation for BAFE SP205, and act as a senior point of contact for clients with complex or sensitive fire safety challenges. The role offers significant strategic influence and the opportunity to help shape a high-growth consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 Fire Risk Assessments
- Apply deep knowledge of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Ensure compliance with BS 9991:2025 and BS 9792:2025
- Act as a qualified and experienced FRA validator to BAFE SP205
- Mentor assessors and provide internal technical guidance
- Support external wall and high-rise building assessments
- Conduct H&S risk assessments where required
- Manage key client relationships and technical discussions
- Use digital fire risk inspection tools to capture site evidence
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the FRA service model
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering FRAs
- Tier 3 on the IFSM Fire Risk Assessor Register
- Level 4 fire safety qualification required
- Experienced FRA Validator (BAFE SP205)
- Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, including BS 9991:2025 and BS 9792:2025
- Experience managing small technical teams
- Proficient using digital evidence platforms
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently
