We are building a specialist Fire Consultancy business unit, growing a national team of fire engineers and FRAEW experts who will deliver cutting‑edge building safety services. This is an opportunity to join a consultancy function at a pivotal stage — influencing how we design, grow and deliver external wall and fire engineering services nationwide. Our London consultancy team works extensively on HRBs, external wall systems, PAS9980 assessments and broader fire engineering activities.
About the Role
As Fire Engineer (FRAEW), you will support the delivery of PAS9980 external wall assessments and contribute to fire engineering and risk management work across the consultancy portfolio. You will work under the guidance of Principal Fire Engineers to deliver high‑quality FRAEW outputs, support clients with external wall queries, and contribute to the development of Harmony’s external wall methodology. This role offers strong progression into senior FRAEW specialist positions and wider fire engineering pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of FRAEW assessments under PAS9980
- Provide technical support on external wall systems and associated risk factors
- Contribute to fire strategies and RIBA-stage engineering work
- Support evidence capture and technical reporting using SaaS tools
- Produce clear, structured technical documentation
- Support client communication and interface with stakeholders
- Contribute to the growth of Harmony’s external wall service model
- Work collaboratively within a small but expanding consultancy team
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire consultancy
- Degree in Fire Engineering or Building Surveying preferred
- Level 4 fire‑related qualification required
- Professional membership at Graduate level (GiFireE or equivalent)
- Experience delivering FRAEW to PAS9980 methodology
- RICS Level 6 External Wall qualification desirable
- Familiarity with digital inspection platforms
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
