About the Role
As Senior Fire Engineer within the London consultancy hub, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical outputs across fire strategy, RIBA-stage engineering, risk assessments and external wall advisory work. You will work closely with the Principal Fire Engineer, supporting clients across mixed portfolios and contributing to Harmony’s growing reputation in the consultancy market. This role is perfect for someone looking to step into a senior technical position with the opportunity to influence a growing team, mentor junior engineers, and help build a best-in-class engineering function within an expanding business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support the development of fire strategies and risk management plans
- Apply detailed understanding of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Contribute to RIBA-stage fire engineering design and advisory work
- Support external wall and FRAEW assessments in line with PAS9980 (preferred)
- Assist in the development of technical outputs aligned to British Standards, ADB and CP3
- Maintain accurate digital evidence using Bluebeam, RISKBASE and RISKFLAG
- Support senior client interactions and communicate technical detail effectively
- Operate independently within a small, fast-growing team structure
- Help develop internal processes and contribute to the strengthening of Harmony’s consultancy capability
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire engineering
- Degree in Fire Engineering or Level 6 fire-related qualification
- Professional membership at Member level (MiFireE or equivalent)
- Experience delivering fire strategies and working across RIBA design stages
- Knowledge of the Single Building Assessment (SBA) desirable
- Ability to undertake FRAEW under PAS9980 preferred
- RICS Level 6 External Wall qualification desirable
- Familiarity with digital fire risk and evidence platforms
- Working towards Engineering Council membership
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
