Our London consultancy hub works across a wide range of buildings and clients, providing engineering advice, strategy development, FRAEW support, external wall assessments and risk management expertise.
About the Role
As Fire Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality fire engineering outputs across strategy development, risk assessments, RIBA-stage design support and external wall advisory work. You will play a key role in producing technical reports, carrying out evidence collection and developing your engineering capability within a growing, supportive team. This role offers progression into senior engineering and specialist pathways, with ongoing exposure to complex buildings, PAS9980 workstreams and client-facing consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of fire strategies and fire risk management plans
- Apply knowledge of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Contribute to RIBA-stage engineering activities and technical reviews
- Assist senior engineers with external wall and FRAEW-related tasks
- Use SaaS and digital inspection tools such as Bluebeam, RISKBASE and RISKFLAG
- Produce clear, accurate technical documentation and reports
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders professionally
- Operate as part of a collaborative technical team within a growing consultancy function
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire consultancy
- Degree in Fire Engineering (preferred) or Level 4 fire-related qualification (required)
- Professional membership at Graduate level (GiFireE or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards
- Experience with digital inspection tools
- Working towards Engineering Council registration
- Detail-oriented, well-organised and comfortable operating independently
