Harmony Homecare Suffolk is looking for an experienced, confident and compassionate Registered Manager to lead and further develop our domiciliary care service. We are a well-established, CQC-rated Good homecare provider supporting people across Suffolk to remain safe, independent and respected in their own homes. We work closely with individuals, families, healthcare professionals and commissioning partners, and we are committed to delivering consistently safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led services. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands that excellent care depends on strong governance, visible leadership, reliable systems and a team that feels supported, valued and accountable.
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, quality, compliance and continued development of the service. You will work closely with the Director, Deputy Manager, Care Coordinators, Care Assessors, HR, Finance and our wider care team. Your focus will be to protect the people we support, maintain regulatory compliance, strengthen operational performance and build a positive, professional culture across the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Act as the CQC Registered Manager and ensure the service meets all relevant legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Maintain strong oversight of the CQC quality statements and ensure the service remains safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
- Lead the preparation for inspections, monitoring visits, audits and commissioner reviews.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns, incidents, accidents, complaints, medication errors and whistleblowing matters are managed promptly, transparently and appropriately.
- Maintain effective governance systems, including audits, action plans, risk registers, quality monitoring and continuous improvement processes.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, reviews and daily records are accurate, person-centred, current and reflective of each individual’s needs, choices and desired outcomes.
- Promote dignity, independence, consent, equality, respect and involvement in every aspect of care delivery.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, supervision, competency assessments, appraisals and performance management.
- Ensure safer recruitment procedures are followed, including appropriate checks, references and employment documentation.
- Build a stable, motivated and accountable workforce while supporting staff wellbeing, recognition and professional development.
- Work with the coordination team to maintain safe staffing levels, effective rotas, continuity of care and reliable call delivery.
- Monitor missed, late or shortened calls and ensure concerns are investigated and corrective action is taken.
- Maintain oversight of medication management, infection prevention and control, moving and handling, health and safety, safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act requirements.
- Develop positive relationships with clients, relatives, advocates, social workers, community professionals, the NHS, Suffolk County Council and other stakeholders.
- Respond professionally to complaints and feedback, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements are embedded.
- Analyse operational and quality data to identify risks, trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Support responsible business growth without compromising care quality, staff capacity or compliance.
- Provide clear reports and updates to the Director and contribute to strategic and operational decision-making.
- Promote an open culture in which staff feel confident to speak up, report concerns and learn from mistakes.
- Lead by example and represent Harmony Homecare Suffolk professionally at all times.
We are looking for a Registered Manager who is organised, resilient, emotionally intelligent and able to balance compassion with accountability. The successful candidate should have:
- Previous management experience within domiciliary care or a closely related adult social care service.
- Current or previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager, or substantial Deputy Manager experience with the readiness and competence to register.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent qualification. Candidates actively working towards Level 5 may also be considered where they have strong relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, medication management, person-centred care, risk management and quality assurance.
- Experience managing inspections, audits, complaints, incidents, investigations and service improvement plans.
- Strong leadership, coaching, delegation and performance-management skills.
- The confidence to challenge poor practice fairly and take timely action when standards are not met.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good digital and administrative skills, with the ability to use electronic care-planning, rostering and quality-monitoring systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy and changing environment.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of staffing, capacity, budgets and sustainable service growth.
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel when required.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience using Access Care Planning or similar digital care-management systems would be advantageous.
