Role Overview
Harmony Healthcare is looking for a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant to support a young child with complex needs in a school in Weymouth. Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently and with dignity.
Client Overview
The role involves supporting a child who requires PEG feeds, tracheostomies, and catheters. The right candidate will be able to monitor airway and wellbeing, respond to clinical needs, provide developmentally appropriate play, support participation in activities, and act swiftly in emergencies.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Monitor airway and overall wellbeing at all times
- Respond promptly to clinical needs including routine tracheostomy care
- Assist with PEG feeding, suctioning, and catheter care
- Provide safe, developmentally appropriate play and emotional reassurance
- Communicate effectively with clinical, care and coordination teams
Shift Pattern
Mon – Fri 09:00 AM – 15:30 PM OR 08:30 AM – 16:00 PM (consistent and predictable shifts)
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting people with complex needs
- Confidence with clinical tasks or willingness to train
- Strong communication, reliability, empathy and person‑centred values
- Ability to work independently and professionally
- Valid DBS, Right to Work verification and reference checks
