Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care (Rotherham) – £15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) – Night Shifts only.
At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Tracheostomy Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, supporting everyday activities and ensuring comfort and well-being. A valid driving licence is preferred, as some roles may involve transporting residents.
This is a meaningful 1:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.
Client and Clinical RequirementsAbout the client: A young girl with a non-traumatic spinal cord injury who lives at home with her family. The client benefits from structured routines, reassurance and support both at home and in the community. A driver is preferred.
Clinical requirements:You will support the client with tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:
- Tracheostomy Care
- Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) feeds
- Spinal Injury
- Catheter Care
- Bowel Care
- Full assistance with urinary and bowel management
- Paediatric experience preferred
- Deliver compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
- Support with community access and social activities
- Promote independence and dignity in all tasks
- Provide emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
- Communicate effectively with clinical, care, and coordination teams
Night shift: 22:00 – 08:00
What We’re Looking For- Experience supporting people with complex needs
- Confidence with clinical tasks or willingness to train
- Strong communication and reliability
- Empathy, emotional intelligence and person-centred values
- Ability to work independently and professionally
- Support residents in following care plans and achieving individual goals
- Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Maintain accurate records of care and report changes to senior staff
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Engage residents in social activities and community events
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the care environment
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication
