Complex Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Surrey
Role Overview
Location: Leatherhead Surrey
Pay: £15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Shifts Available: Day and Nights 12 hour shifts
Contract Type: Zero Hours Contract – offering access to a range of complex care packages
We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Complex Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to provide specialist, high-quality care to children with complex healthcare needs in Surrey.
We are looking for confident, reliable and skilled HCAs with previous experience working with children and competence in delivering complex clinical care.
Essential Clinical Skills and Experience
Candidates must have practical experience and competency in the following:
- Medication administration.
- Oropharyngeal and/or nasopharyngeal suctioning.
- Cough assist therapy.
- Chest physiotherapy.
- Clinical observations, including BP, pulse, temperature and respiratory rate.
- Oxygen therapy.
- PEG care, including feeds, flushes, medication administration, balloon volume checks and venting.
- JEJ feeding and management, including feeds, flushes, medication administration, balloon volume checks and venting.
- Button gastrostomy care, including feeds, flushes, medication administration, balloon volume checks and venting.
- Nebuliser therapy.
- Tracheostomy (Trachy/Trache) care and management.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience supporting children with complex medical needs.
Confident and competent in the clinical procedures listed above.
Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
Reliable, flexible and committed to providing safe, person-centred care.
Pay: £15.20 per hour.
Shift length: 12 hours.
Working days: Monday to Sunday.
Location: Surrey.
Due to the complexity of the care involved, candidates must have relevant paediatric experience and be able to demonstrate competency in the required clinical skills.
