We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.
We are looking for a Surveyor to join our Building Fabric Delivery team across the Midlands. You will carry out detailed surveys of buildings and fire door assets across our client portfolio — producing accurate, high-quality survey reports that underpin our quotes, scope definitions, and delivery programmes.
This is a field-based role covering sites across the Midlands. If you are methodical, detail oriented, and want to be part of a business genuinely committed to saving lives — read on.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed pre-start and condition surveys of buildings and fire door assets across residential, social housing, and commercial sites in the Midlands.
- Produce accurate, well-structured survey reports clearly recording existing condition, defects, quantities, and scope of works required.
- Photograph and document findings thoroughly to the required standard, ensuring all reports are client-ready and support accurate pricing.
- Liaise with clients, residents, and building managers professionally on site, coordinating access and communicating the survey process clearly.
- Support the estimating and pre-construction teams by providing accurate take-off data, scope information, and site-specific intelligence.
- Identify and flag additional scope, variations, or remedial opportunities arising from surveys, feeding back to the commercial team.
- Manage your own diary and travel schedule to meet survey commitments across the Midlands region.
- Maintain accurate records in the job management system, completing all entries on time and to the required standard.
- Ensure all surveys are carried out safely and in line with Harmony’s H&S requirements.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- An A-player mindset — high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time.
- Proven experience in a surveying role within construction, fire safety, building fabric, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail — accurate and thorough in recording, reporting, and documentation.
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites, managing your own schedule and travel.
- Good understanding of building construction, fire doors, and passive fire protection (preferable).
- Clear and professional communicator — comfortable engaging with clients, residents, and site representatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and comfortable using mobile survey and job management tools.
- Based within commutable distance of the Midlands.
- Full UK driving licence.
