Role Overview

The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of utility and drainage surveys both on-site and in the office, working under the guidance of a senior surveyor. All work will be carried out in accordance with company procedures for Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental standards. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • The role involves working on a range of utility and drainage survey projects using a combination of traditional surveying techniques and specialist technology.
  • Utility mapping is carried out using electromagnetic locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to detect and map underground services.
  • You will assist with drainage CCTV surveys, using camera systems to inspect and assess the condition of underground pipework, identifying defects, blockages, and structural issues.
  • Survey data is collected on site using GNSS and total station equipment and processed in the office using software such as N4CE and AutoCAD/BricsCAD (2D & 3D), along with CCTV data review and reporting.
  • This is a physically active position combining outdoor site work in all conditions with office-based data processing.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to reliably travel to and from our office in Kings Norton, Birmingham
  • Ability to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT skills (AutoCAD/BricsCAD experience advantageous)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (advantageous)
  • Enhanced DBS (desirable)
