The family is seeking a warm, reliable nanny to provide after‑school companionship for their 11‑year‑old daughter. This is an emergency temporary position while a permanent after‑school nanny is being sourced, however there is the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. Nannies who are unable to commit long term are also encouraged to apply. Standard hours are 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with the possibility of additional hours during school holidays. For candidates seeking longer hours, there is an option for a combined nanny/housekeeper role from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, which would include light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation for the child, including a packed lunch for the following day.
Responsibilities
- The role is focused primarily on companionship rather than supervision.
- The child walks home from school independently and is confident completing her homework on her own, although she prefers the nanny to be present in the same room so she can ask for support if required.
- The nanny should take the child’s lead while gently encouraging engagement and interaction.
- Depending on the child’s energy levels after school, responsibilities may include cooking together, arts and crafts, games, or other creative activities.
- On certain days, the nanny will be required to walk approximately 15 minutes or take the bus with the child to after‑school activities such as dance or drama.
- The child has a strong interest in reading, dance, music, and languages.
