A part-time position has become available in Stroud to help care for a 3 year old boy. The role is suitable for someone who is fun, active, enjoys being outdoors and engaging with children.
Responsibilities
- Work Tuesday–Saturday or 4 afternoons plus Saturday or Sunday for 5 hours. One of the days will be Wednesday with a later finish of 10:30pm, and another evening with a 10/10:30pm finish. Occasional overnight/proxy parenting 2–3 times a month.
- Carry out duties that are purely child related.
- Support day trips during holidays (driver not essential but useful).
- Supervise activities and outings aligned with the child’s interests (books, singing, outdoor play, water play, climbing).
Hours, Schedule and Location
- Location: Stroud
- Days of work: Tuesday–Saturday
- Hours of work: 2:30–7:30pm (with a Wednesday finish of 10:30pm and one other evening finishing 10/10:30pm)
- During school holidays: same hours with earlier start/finish times
- Nursery: attends 9am–3pm on weekdays during term time
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Minimum experience: Minimum 2 years in childcare
- Training: Paediatric First Aid
- Qualifications: Not essential
- Driving: Not essential but preferred
- Other requirements: Up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate on the update service; 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate; minimum of two professional referees; one reference must be current/last employer; appropriate personal insurance recommended
