Starting in June 2026, a wonderful part‑time nanny position for 30 hours per week has become available in Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire. The family is friendly, both parents are professionals with demanding jobs that require a reliable nanny, and they share a love of travel, ancient history and fitness. They have two Dachshund dogs who are part of the family and a daily dog walker; being a dog lover is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide sole‑charge care for a child aged nearly 2½ years, including attendance at nursery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (flexible hours, usually 09:00‑15:00).
  • When the child is at nursery, care for the newborn while the mother is on maternity leave, ensuring a single child is cared for at a time.
  • Plan and support developmental activities: read, sensory play, singing, dancing, age‑appropriate games, outdoor play, garden and park trips, and attendance at local toddler groups and other child‑focused activities.
  • Drive the family car as required; maintain a clean driver’s licence.
  • Perform nursery duties: general child care, keep kitchen, bedroom, playroom and other areas clean, tidy and organised, make up/sterilise bottles, manage children’s laundry, prepare healthy and nutritious meals, create meal plans and batch‑cook meals, and apply knowledge of weaning.
  • Assist with light household tasks, including ensuring rooms are tidy at the end of each day.

Employment Details

  • Days: Tuesday and Thursday at least 08:00‑18:00, plus ten additional hours spread across the week to be mutually agreed, for a total of 30 hours per week.
  • Location: Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire.
  • Pay: From £25,740 gross per annum. Overtime will be paid at £16.50 gross per hour.
  • Type: Permanent.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum two years of nannying experience.
  • 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service.
  • Childcare qualification preferable, though experience may substitute.
  • References: two professional referees, one of whom must be the current or most recent employer, all immediately contactable.
