A lovely first-time family based in Hertfordshire are seeking an experienced Nights only Maternity Nurse to support them with their 3-week-old baby. Their baby is currently bottle-fed and prefers to be held for much of the night. The family would value support from an experienced maternity practitioner who is confident in following and implementing current NHS and Lullaby Trust safe sleep guidelines, while gently encouraging healthy sleep foundations in a responsive and age-appropriate manner.

With Mum’s initial recovery period drawing to a close and family support reducing, the parents are keen to welcome an experienced maternity practitioner who can offer gentle guidance, reassurance, and expert overnight support. The role involves providing overnight care, supporting feeds and settling, managing nursery duties related to the baby, and helping the family work towards calmer, more restful nights. The mother is Romanian and would appreciate a candidate who speaks Romanian.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight care for a 3-week-old baby at the family home.
  • Support feeds, settling and manage nursery duties related to the baby.
  • Assist the family in achieving calmer, more restful nights.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Maternity Practitioner (L3 minimum) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the role.
  • 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the updated service.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 competence.
  • Ability to work up to 6 nights a week, 10pm-8am or 9pm-7am.
  • Driving licence required (not used within the role).
  • Comfortable working with families speaking Romanian (preferred).
