A warm and welcoming private family based near Newbury, Berkshire is seeking a reliable, engaging and proactive individual to provide after‑school support for their three children, aged 7, 5 and 4, from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is looking for a long-term, part‑time role with a lovely young family.
Responsibilities
- Collecting the children from school and safely transporting them to and from after‑school activities.
- Supporting homework, reading and other age‑appropriate learning.
- Planning fun, engaging and creative activities for the children at home.
- Encouraging good routines and helping the children develop confidence and independence.
- Preparing simple evening meals or snacks for the children if required.
- Creating a safe, happy and nurturing environment where the children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
- They are looking for a caring, proactive, and dependable individual with previous experience working with children.
- Nannying experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Confident supporting homework and encouraging a positive approach to learning.
- Enjoys engaging children in fun, educational and age‑appropriate activities.
- Warm, patient and able to create a happy, structured after‑school routine.
- Organised, reliable and able to use their own initiative.
- A confident driver with a minimum of 8 years’ driving experience and a clean driving licence.
- Flexible and happy to provide additional support during school holidays and occasional weekends.
- For candidates with additional skills or experience, there may be the opportunity to increase weekly hours by undertaking further family support duties.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, approximately 3:00pm – 7:00/7:30pm
- Approximately 20–25 hours per week
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and additional hours during school holidays is essential.
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
