Responsibilities
- The role will include all nursery duties, along with maintaining a daily log to track feeds, sleep, and overall care.
- The maternity nurse will also monitor the baby’s development and offer informed guidance on age‑appropriate milestones and progress.
- Support the mother in breastfeeding while also introducing bottles, guided by the baby’s needs.
- Help establish a gentle, flexible routine that suits the family’s needs, and apply up‑to‑date knowledge of NHS guidelines and safe sleep practices.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified Maternity Practitioner (Level 3 minimum).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a maternity nurse.
- 12‑hour paediatric first aid certificate.
- Enhanced DBS certificate, registered on the update service.
- Available to work 20 hrs + 4 hr break per week, 6 days a week, starting 15 October 2026 for a 12‑week contract.
- Commitment to a residential arrangement in Kimpton, Hertfordshire, with separate room for downtime.
- Comfortable working in a rural setting within the Hertfordshire area, with convenient access to London via a nearby train station.
- Responsible for caring for pets (two low‑shedding dogs) and any other household staff present.
Contract and Compensation
- Self‑employed opportunity. Gross hourly rate: £300‑£350 per day.
