Role Overview
Provide overnight support to first-time parents following a difficult birth. Assist the mother in resting and recovering while caring for the newborn.
Responsibilities
- Work nights from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am (10 hour shift) for 14 consecutive nights.
- Provide hands-on newborn care, including feeding assistance and safe sleep guidance in line with NHS and The Lullaby Trust.
- Offer practical support and reassurance to the family, helping to establish a gentle, responsive routine.
- Maintain a calm and supportive approach at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Maternity Practitioner (Level 3 minimum).
- Minimum 5 years experience in newborn/maternity care.
- 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service.
- Safeguarding Level 2.
- At least 2 professional referees, one of whom must be your current or most recent employer.
