First-time parents are seeking an experienced and supportive Maternity Practitioner to assist with the arrival of their newborn, due via Caesarean section around 30th December. This is a wonderful opportunity to guide and reassure a new family through the early weeks of parenthood.

The family are looking for a knowledgeable professional who can confidently support both mother and baby, helping them settle into a new way of life. Someone who is calm, organised, proactive and confident working independently. They are very keen to establish a routine for the baby from an early stage, allowing both parents to feel involved and supported.

The mother intends to bottle feed but is open to guidance on the most suitable feeding approach for the baby. The ideal candidate will be up to date with current NHS guidelines, experienced in newborn care, and able to offer practical and emotional support following a Caesarean birth.

This role is expected to gradually reduce in days as the mother gains confidence and the family become more settled into their new routine.

  • Hours of work: 20hrs + 4 hrs break

For all roles with children and the vulnerable you must have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and a minimum of 2 professional referees. One of your references must be your current or last employer and both references must be immediately contactable. We also recommend that you have appropriate professional insurance (maternity practitioner insurance / consultant insurance).
