A wonderful family known to Harmony at Home is seeking an experienced, professional, and engaging nanny to care for their two children, a girl aged ten and her brother aged eight, from October 2026. The family is relocating from London to a country home in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, and is looking for a nanny who will become an integral part of their busy household. The role can be offered on either a live‑in or live‑out basis. For the live‑in position, exceptional accommodation is provided in a one‑bedroom apartment above the garage, offering privacy and independence, and the nanny will be expected to babysit two evenings per week.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the children’s daily routines, including school drop‑offs and pick‑ups.
  • Providing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children each day.
  • Planning fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate activities both at home and during the school holidays.
  • Supporting homework and encouraging the children’s learning and development.
  • Organising and accompanying the children to extracurricular activities and appointments.
  • Keeping on top of the children’s laundry, wardrobes, and ensuring their bedrooms and play areas remain tidy and organised.
  • Encouraging outdoor play and making full use of the family’s extensive grounds and facilities.
  • Working collaboratively with the parents, Estate Manager, and Housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of the children’s schedules and routines.

Ideal Candidate

  • Have previous experience caring for school‑aged children.
  • Be energetic, engaging, and genuinely enjoy spending time with active children.
  • Be organised, proactive, and able to use initiative.
  • Have experience working within a private household or alongside other household staff.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a team‑focused approach.
  • Be a careful, confident driver with a full, clean driving licence; a duty car will be provided.
  • Have SEN knowledge or experience of working with children with ADHD (desirable but not essential).

Requirements

  • Must hold an up‑to‑date enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the update service and a 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Minimum two professional referees must be immediately contactable, with at least one reference from a current or most recent employer.

Employment Details

  • Location: Kings Langley, Hertfordshire
  • Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 07:00‑19:00 (60 hours per week)
  • Live‑In Salary: £49,920 gross per annum plus high‑quality accommodation, overtime paid at £16 gross per hour.
  • Live‑Out Salary: £59,280 gross per annum, overtime paid at £19 gross per hour.
  • Permanent position.
  • Minimum experience required: two years.
  • Level 3 childcare is preferred but experience is essential.
  • Occasional travel may be required, including potential skiing trips and summer holidays.
