First-time parents are seeking an experienced and supportive Maternity Practitioner to provide daily guidance and care during the early newborn stage. The role involves a mixture of shared charge and occasional sole charge support, with the mother working from home. This is a self-employed opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily guidance and care for the newborn during the early newborn stage.
  • Support first-time parents by offering reassurance, practical advice and up-to-date guidance throughout the early days of parenthood.
  • Provide balanced information so parents can make informed choices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Up to date with current NHS guidelines.
  • Knowledge of The Lullaby Trust safe sleep recommendations.
  • Hold Safeguarding Level 2 certification.
  • 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS (registered on the update service).
  • Minimum 5 years experience within the role.
  • Maternity Practitioner (L3 minimum).
  • Knowledge of SIDS and Safer Sleep by The Lullaby Trust.
  • Driving required.

Job Details:

  • Gross hourly rate: £20 per hour.
  • Hours: 9 am – 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Contract start date: 11 May 2026.
  • Contract end: 10 weeks (may extend).
  • Location: Near Heathfield.
