A lovely, retired couple based in rural Falmouth are looking to appoint a self-employed daily housekeeper to support the smooth running of their large home.

Their impressive property includes a 7-bedroom Cornish house, a 2-bedroom coach house annexe, and 1/2 an acre of garden (gardener employed).

There are no children or pets in residence, and this is a non-smoking home.

This role would suit an experienced housekeeper looking for a part-time position to start, ideally 3–4 afternoons per week / 15–20 hours per week (flexible), with the potential for hours and days to increase over time.

Due to the rural location, a driver with their own car is likely essential, and mileage will be paid on duty.

The couple are offering £20+ gross per hour, depending on experience.

Duties will include cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and general household administration such as booking appointments, managing online shopping and orders, and arranging tradespeople for maintenance as needed.

Errands such as dry-cleaning drop-off and collection will also form part of the role.

The couple enjoy reading, sailing, gardening, art and architecture, and music, and are looking for someone who is highly trustworthy, discreet and dependable, with excellent attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised and proactive, able to take initiative while maintaining complete respect for the privacy and standards of the household.
